5 coffee shops in NYC that you need to try

For any and all coffee addicts

Are you a coffee addict? If so, we at the Journiest have compiled a list of 5 places in New York that you need to try the next time you're in the city.

1. LA COLOMBE

With several locations throughout the city, La Colombe is often called the "Starbucks of New York". But if you're looking for a really good cup of coffee, this could be the place for you. La Colombe has a chic interior - with wooden tables, granite countertops, and big windows, and a helpful and cool staff. Their iced latte is delicious, and the Greenwich Village location is always a prime location for celebrity sightings. For great coffee and delicious pastries, you need to check out La Colombe.

2. ABRAÇO

Located on 7th street in the East Village, Abraço is a hip coffee spot with great espresso, bustling with cool creative people. While it may touch upon the hipster stereotype, you can't help but loving their coffee and sweets. For good, counter served coffee, you should check out Abraço.

3. DEVOCION

It doesn't get more Brooklyn (in a good way!) than Devocion Coffee. Located in Williamsburg, Devocion is a high end coffee place, and a great hangout spot. With a giant sunlight, a wall of hanging plants, and super comfortable big leather couches, Devocion is the perfect place to hang out with friends or bring your laptop and get some work done.

4. BROOKLYN ROASTING COMPANY

With several locations throughout Brooklyn, and one on 23rd street in Manhattan, the Brooklyn Roasting Company could be your next go to. As explained on their website, the Brooklyn Roasting Company "The Brooklyn Roasting Company buys, roasts and sells superb coffees from the world's most renowned growing regions. We favor certified coffees (Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, organic) and unique auction-lot coffees." With chic wooden interiors, the Brooklyn Roasting Company is a great place to get a cup of coffee - or to get some coffee beans to make at home.

5. MUD COFFEE

Located on East 9th street in the East Village, Mud is a great place to get some coffee and lunch. With great, rich lattes, vegan options, and great sandwiches, Mud is often a go to when going out with friends or family. Their Chai lattes are great, and their avocado toast is next level.
