The Best Escape For Fall

It's the greatest time of year to get away.

Every year, my friends and I take a group trip somewhere.

This year though, even our Plan C's fell through. We were about to completely give up, until we found Getaway.

Getaway was the only escape we found that's safe. It gives you all the good parts of camping, without having to rough it, with their beautiful, secluded cabins tucked away between the trees, only a 2-hour drive from the city.

Before booking, we wanted to make sure that Getaway was a completely safe option. We checked their site and Journal posts, plus I emailed their team to double-check. (They couldn't have been nicer or more helpful!)

They reassured us that they've upped their cleaning procedures and that the cabins are at least 50-150 ft away from each other. We also wouldn't have to go to the check-in desk, so we could go straight to our cabin without interacting with anyone else during our stay.

After we heard this and saw how cozy they looked, we booked the next available cabin.

We love going on trips in the Fall, so we can take in the leaves changing, the crisp air, and the inescapable feeling of fresh beginnings- something that we really could use with everything that's going on.

I'm mostly looking forward to our technology detox. There's no Wifi in the cabins, plus a phone lockbox, so we plan to put our phones away for the whole weekend and just enjoy nature.

This is definitely something we all need after months of staying home. (There is, though, a landline in each cabin, in case we need it.)

The cabins look super cozy. Inside there are freshly made beds, along with AC and heat, a private bathroom with a toilet and a hot shower, a deck of cards, a selection of books, a kitchenette with a two-burner stove, a mini-fridge, and kitchen essentials, like a pot and a pan, a tea kettle, a bottle opener, and olive oil and salt and pepper.

There's also a large window, where we can take in the gorgeous Autumn views - the golden hour light, colorful leaves, and calming evening sunsets. Ugh, I just love Fall!

Personally, I can't wait to just sit around the fire pit on the Adirondack chairs, toasting s'mores and chatting, or sit at the picnic table tucking into some delicious grilled chicken skewers. It's going to be bliss.

Not to mention, of course, we plan to go on some hikes! There are beautiful nature trails nearby the cabins, where we can hear the leaves crunching beneath our feet, listen to the birds chirping, and truly appreciate nature, but still come back clean and dry, to a hot shower, kitchen and bed!

This year has been crazy, but thanks to Getaway we're still able to take a break away from it all. I'd highly recommend checking out Getaway cabins; they start at just $99 a night, and their customer service is great. I just know our trip is going to be one we'll never forget!
