Cost of a Long Winter Away
Long stays only work if the monthly cost is close to what staying at home would have been. Book the accommodation on a monthly rate rather than a nightly one, and take the second month in the same building if the first went well. Familiarity with a neighbourhood is worth more than the view. The people who succeed at this are recognised in their local cafe by week 3, which is not possible from a hotel.
