Ever since I landed my dream job in TV development as a Production Assistant, my life has been a little hectic -- I'm not complaining though. Since every day looks different -- one day I'm buried in paperwork, the next day I'm assisting on set, so I never have time to think about food. That's why I'm so happy I signed up for the Daily Harvest 12-cup weekly plan. Daily Harvest sends me tasty, pre-portioned smoothies, Harvest Bowls, oat bowls, soups, and more right to my doorstep. They're all vegan, gluten and GMO-free and packed full of fruits and veggies for maximum energy and nutrition. They take 5 minutes to make, tops. Since my schedule can be unpredictable, it's nice to know I always have something healthy and filling ready whenever I am.
Here's an inside look at a day in the life of a Production Assistant, and how Daily Harvest works for me.
6:45 am - My alarm clock jolted me awake. I fell asleep watching The Office again, so I woke up to the blue screen of my television. I have to be better about remembering to put the sleep timer on.
7:30 am - I got dressed and ready for breakfast. My go-to used to be a microwaveable breakfast burrito from my fave organic brand, but I found out the burritos are filled with enough saturated fat for half a day's recommended intake. So instead, I had the Daily Harvest Cinnamon Protein + Banana Oat Bowl, filled with delicious ingredients like banana, butternut squash, cacao nibs and more to help jump-start my morning. It's so delicious, it gets me excited to get out of bed.
8:15 am - I was already at the agency, even though most people wouldn't get there for another half hour at least. I had a ton of emails to get through this morning and had to prep for a 9:00 am meeting with my boss to start the ball rolling on a new project with a sensitive deadline.
2:00 pm - After spending all morning running errands, I tried to grab a late lunch with a friend, but last minute, my boss asked me to pick up an order for the 3pm executive meeting. Thank goodness I had my Daily Harvest Cold Brew + Almond Smoothie to get me through the next few hours. I definitely needed the extra energy.
6:00 pm - Suddenly, it's 6pm and I don't know where the day went. I decided to have the Acai + Cherry smoothie for a pick me up because I had to work late at the office.
9:00 pm - I finally got home and I was starving. I grabbed Daily Harvest's Mushroom + Miso Soup from the freezer, filled the cup to the top with water and popped it into the microwave. It's filled with mushrooms, seaweed and organic butternut squash -- not to mention, it's super yummy.
11:30 pm - I finished my night-time routine: washed my face, jumped into bed and did a last email check for the day. I saw that my boss gifted me with tickets to one of my favorite bands -- silver lining to an exhausting day...busy but worth it! I finished my day with a little TV, and soon I was counting sheep, getting ready to do it all over again the next day.
If you're on the go and refuse to compromise your health, Daily Harvest has got you covered. It's delicious, convenient and keeps me going on days when I don't even have time to think!
