New Year, Less Screen Time For My Kids — Thanks To The Toniebox 2

When I first became a mom, I was determined not to let TV and Tablet games take over my kids’ days. Then we had our second child — and reality hit fast.

Suddenly, limiting screen time was just about impossible. Two under five, a house that constantly needs attention, work deadlines… it was too easy to tap “play next episode” and call it survival.

I kept telling myself it was just for now, I’ll solve it soon. But as they grow older, the more they demand screens. I could feel it affecting them — restless moods, short attention spans, and bedtime meltdowns after hours of watching.

When I read that excessive screen time can actually impact a child’s ability to read facial cues and build early social skills, something clicked.

So, as we head into 2026, I made a firm New Year’s resolution: find a screenless solution that keeps them engaged and supports their development… without making my life ten times harder.

That’s when we invested in the Toniebox 2 — and it changed our routines in ways I honestly never expected.

1. Our Bedtime Routine Is Finally Calm and Consistent

Before the Toniebox 2, bedtime was a battle I never signed up for. Now, my kids hop on their beds, pick a Sleep Tonie, and the whole atmosphere shifts.

The Night Light and the gentle Sunrise Alarm completely transformed evenings and mornings. I use the app to dim the night light, my kids  choose a story, and suddenly we have a peaceful night-time ritual.

2. “Screen-Free Playtime” No Longer Feels Impossible

I wanted to cut screen time — but I needed to replace it with something truly engaging. The Toniebox 2 does exactly that.

My kids start their afternoon play hour by choosing a Tonie, and then they’re off — dancing, singing, or role-playing whatever’s happening in the story.

And then there’s Tonieplay — the feature that changed everything.

Interactive games, scavenger hunts, little challenges to solve… it keeps them active, not passive — exactly the kind of play I want more of this year.

3. We’re Reading Together More

With my eldest starting school in the fall, building a reading routine is a huge goal for 2026. Now we listen to a story on the Toniebox first, and then we read a short book together. It’s such a fantastic way to get them in “story mode,” and we’ve become far more consistent these days.

4. My Kids Have Gained So Much Independence

One of my favorite surprises (especially with my 2.5-year-old) is how incredibly kid-friendly the Toniebox 2 is. The kids now handle everything on their own:

  • Choosing a Tonie
  • Adjusting the volume
  • Switching between different tonies for mindful moments, adventures, and music
  • Turning on the night light
  • Carrying it around for play (the 10+ hour battery life is amazing)

They feel proud and capable — and I get a little breathing room!

5. Car Rides Are No Longer Chaos

We added a few Tonies to our “Car Kit” and now the kids listen while we drive. No fighting.
No whining. No wrestling over the Tablet. Just creative, screen-free storytelling all the way to the playdate.

Starting 2026 With Rituals That Last

For once, I’m sure my New Year’s resolution won’t fizzle out by month two — because the Toniebox 2 is the heart of our family routines. With Tonieplay adventures, soothing sleep features, Creative Tonies, and a constantly growing library of stories, music, and educational content, it will grow with my kids as they reach every stage.

And honestly, the value really surprised me. At $119.99 for the box and $19.99 per Tonie.  There’s literally a Tonie for everything — bedtime, language learning, mindfulness, active play, quiet time, and screen-free entertainment. Each new Tonie is a lovely thoughtful gift idea for birthdays, holidays, or special reward moments throughout the year.

Ready for less screen time and more quality play in 2026? The Toniebox 2 is a way to start!
