- Home Chef – #1 in customer satisfaction among leading meal kit companies – recently launched an exciting new brand: Tempo
- Tempo’s Meals are perfect for busy lives and ready in only 4 minutes
- Protein-packed and full of fresh ingredients – a great meal prep alternative
I love to cook. But, as someone with a hectic schedule, meal prepping often takes a backseat during those really busy weeks. I’ve always been tempted by meal kit services but figured they still require my time to cook (which I rarely have). So, when I recently discovered Tempo – they’re all over my Instagram feed – I had to test them out.
Tempo is a new brand from Home Chef which is actually ranked #1 in customer satisfaction among leading meal kit companies. Tempo’s dedicated to delivering chef-designed, no-prep meals – psst, you can get 50% off your first box! That’s right, they’re pre-made meals meaning they’re ready-to-heat within minutes. Plus, I’d get to choose from a rotating selection of 20 tasty, protein-packed meals each week. I thought, why not?
Here's my honest take on this brilliant time-saving solution:
What I Got From Tempo
For my first week with Tempo, I tried the Spicy Kung Pao Chicken, Chicken Piccata, Creamy Cacio Pepe, and a Beef Fajita Bowl. My favorite was easily the Creamy Cacio Pepe, which felt more like a cheat meal!
Spicy Kung Pao Chicken with Broccoli and Brown Rice
The Spicy Kung Pao Chicken was the first Tempo meal I tried for dinner this week. The mix of heat and savory flavors was just what I needed after a crazy-busy day. I’m not the biggest fan of spicy dishes, but this has just the right amount of spice to it. The chicken is tender and there’s a good amount of broccoli too.
Creamy Cacio Pepe
Hands down my favorite Tempo dish, the Creamy Cacio Pepe is a terrific lunch. I love creamy and cheesy dishes, and this hits all the marks. A great comfort meal to eat on those cozy work-from-home days. And the best part; I simply pop the dish in the microwave for 3 minutes, let it cool for one, and voilà – a delicious, wholesome meal!
Beef Fajita Bowl with Brown Rice and Red Beans
I had the Beef Fajita Bowl as my post-workout meal – I definitely earned that huge yummy chunk of avocado. I really like that Tempo uses brown rice in all of their rice-based dishes – gotta get that fiber!
For me, the standout feature is Tempo’s promise to provide balanced meals with 30+ grams of protein and under 600 calories per serving.
Chicken Piccata with Roasted Zucchini and Tomatoes
Last but not least, my final Tempo Meal was Chicken Piccata – what a fantastic lunch. It’s light on carbs and didn’t leave me feeling sluggish for the rest of the day.
The Verdict
I am thrilled with the convenience of Tempo. Having high-protein, no-prep meals delivered right to my door suits my busy schedule to a tee and is a total win-win.
Their subscription model allows me to customize the number of meals to fit my schedule. Should I need to skip a week when life’s extra busy, I can easily update my plan. I have full control and flexibility.
I can’t wait to taste more dishes from Tempo’s rotating menu. Each week I can choose from 20+ mouth-watering, calorie-conscious, pre-made meals. I'm never-ever bored.
Meals start at only $10.98 per serving and you can get 50% off your first box! Give Tempo a try and see what you think.
